Sri Seetharamachandra Temple, Badrachalam, Andhra Vaikunta Ekadashi Celebrated With Devotion On January 10

 At the famous Seetha Ramachandra Vaari temple (built in 1764 by Bhakta Ramadas /Kancharla Gopanna), at Badrachalam, 40 km from Kothakundam town  Vaikunta Ekadashi is observed on January 10, 2025  as a colorful event next to the dazzling celestial wedding of Lord Rama with Seethama during Sri Rama Navami festival (March).

This annaual Vaikunta EkadaBadrachalam Seetharamachanra temple shi celebration is quite famous here after Tirupati and more than 70000 devotees from  the Gothavari region are expected to attend the one-time-in -a -near event. Decorations apart, the district administration along with the revenue department made  special  arrangement to tackle the crowd and to have tussle-free darshan queues at the temple.

The temple administration, not ready to take any chances, issued 4000  Vaikunta Dwaran darshan tickets on line to avoid rush at the ticket counters and in the Kalyana madapam.  Roughly 8 special counters were open for the purchase of laddu after darshan. Each laddu weighing 25 gm to 400gm would cost Rs, 25 to Rs. 100 respectively.. This year the administration made arrangements for the preparation of 200000 laddus to be distributed among the visiting devotees.  

The highlight of the event is the Teppostchavam - swan shaped boat ride in the wide Godavari river.  Special barricades were set up for the safety of the devotees to watch the colorful event.
