Patriot Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya |
Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya was one of the most respected leaders of India’s freedom movement, known for his contributions as a scholar, educationist, social reformer, and nationalist. He was born on ecember 25, 1861, in Allahabad into a Brahmin family known for its scholarly traditions. He received early education in Sanskrit schools before moving to an English medium school and later studying at Muir Central College. Though he began his career as an assistant master at a government high school, his passion for public service led him to join the Indian National Congress, where his first speech at the Calcutta session left a deep impression. He went on to become Congress President three times—1909, 1918, and 1933—though he was arrested before he could preside over the 1933 session.
