The Hyderabad Nizam, Asaf Jah VII, an alley of the British under Campany's rule as well as under the Raj directly administered by the British Crown, gave the Princess Elizabeth as a wedding present in 1947. The Nizam had the necklace made at the firm of Cartier in London and instructed that Princess Elizabeth should select a wedding gift herself. The queen chose the platinum necklace set with approximately 300 diamonds. The royal family shared that Her Majesty had continued to wear the necklace throughout her reign and once loaned it to Kate Middleton,The Duchess of Cambridge," the caption further added.
