And then it went on to become Lucknow Women's College in July 1886. After founder Isabella Thoburn's death in 1901, it was named after her and moved over to the  present location in 1923, writes Rajeev Mullick.It is fully established private institution uner a governing body.

Isabella Thoburn College, established in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, is a prestigious institution named after its American founder, Isabella Thoburn, a pioneering missionary and educationist. The college has grown into a reputed center of learning for women and is now affiliated with Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University for engineering and management courses, while all other academic programs are affiliated with the University of Lucknow. It is about 17 kilometres from Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport, and is located on Acharya Narendradev Marg in Lucknow and is an affiliate institute of University of Lucknow. In terms of infrastructure, the college campus has laboratories, a library, a computer lab, etc  om par with reputed colleges. This year it celebrated its 125 the anniversary

The campus, located at Chand Bagh, has expanded since the 1920s and now includes academic buildings, lecture rooms, laboratories, a library, a chapel, an auditorium, and student hostels. The college offers a range of undergraduate programs including Bachelor of Technology (BTech), Bachelor of Arts (BA), Bachelor of Science (BSc), Bachelor of Education (BEd), Bachelor of Commerce (BCom), Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), and Bachelor of Library and Information Science (BLISc). It also provides postgraduate degrees such as Master of Arts (MA), Master of Science (MSc), Master of Business Administration (MBA), and a Postgraduate Diploma in Healthcare and Hospital Management (PGDHHM). The college's Principal Sarah Chakko (1905–1954) was the first woman president of the World Council of Churches.

Originally, the college also conducted intermediate classes, but a separate building was later constructed within the campus exclusively for classes 11 and 12. The institution has both resident students and day scholars. Hostel facilities are available in three main hostels—Naunihal, Nishat Mahal, and Maitreyi Bhawan.

On 12 April 2012, the Government of India honored the institution by issuing a five-rupee commemorative postage stamp. The college emphasizes value-based education, integrating spirituality and character development through regular chapel worship services. These services promote biblical values such as honesty, respect, kindness, humility, and self-discipline, reinforcing moral integrity among students.
