The church features red brick walls, stained glass windows, and a Chisholm-style dome, with its altar adorned with Methodist imagery. Inside, plaques of Anderson and Jesus Christ stand in glass chambers, facing the prayer hall. The site, recognized by INTACH and CMDA, is listed as a heritage building.
Now under the Diocese of Madras of the Church of South India, Anderson Church continues to serve the Protestant community with daily services. Originally staffed by English priests, the church now includes Tamil clergy. Regular worship occurs throughout the week, and the church celebrates major festivals like Christmas and the Harvest Festival in November. The 150th anniversary was commemorated in 2009 with special events, underlining its enduring spiritual and cultural legacy in Chennai.
