Why Does Cartoon Visual Presentation Attract Newspapers And magazines? - 02.

Cartoons are vital as they offer a unique and accessible way to critique society, politics, and culture through humor and satire. With origins dating back to the Middle Ages, cartoons evolved from preparatory art sketches to a popular medium for social commentary in the 19th century, particularly through publications like Punch magazine. Today, cartoons are widely appreciated in newspapers and magazines, where they serve as quick, visual insights into complex issues.

Cartoons simplify topics that might otherwise seem daunting, allowing readers of all ages to understand and reflect on significant issues, from corruption to social injustices. Political cartoons, for instance, often highlight the absurdities in public policy or leadership without overt offense, using visual metaphors to create a lasting impact. They hold a mirror to society, exposing everything from politicians' missteps to societal inequalities, often sparking discussions on topics that would otherwise go unnoticed.

For readers, cartoons are not just entertainment; they’re thought-provoking insights that break the monotony of text-heavy news. They remind us to laugh at ourselves and question authority, making them a staple of media that combines art with a powerful social message in just a few lines or strokes.

To me a  magazine or a newspaper without a cartoon is something like a figure in the centerfold of the 'Hustler' magazine, San Antonio city, TX  without the ''Alamo'' or London without the WestMinster Abbey.  The cartoons make us not only laugh and think but also give us respite from reading drab and dry new paper articles

The following are the funny cartoons that will give a laugh and make you think

bringing crude oil from Alberta to the US Gulf Coast. Gronda Morin

Above image: Yet another pet project of Don Trump. Canada-US oil pipline from Alberta to Texas through states like the Dakotas Nebraska, etc. People protest against Pipe line going through the Indian reservation and large underground fresh water acquihires. Underground water is depleting in many states like California. The High Plains Aquifer, often referred to as the Ogallala Aquifer  underlying about 174,000 square miles in portions of eight states, from North Dakota to Texas will face serious threats. The crude oil from the Athabasca Tar Sands of Alberta has rich sulphur and may cause lot of air, water pollution and soil  if accidents happen........

Above image: During the colonial  period, for more than 200 plus years, India was a Milch Cow for the British Bobs and the Crown. India's GDP in 1600s  was 23%  and it plummeted to just 3% when the last batch of British left India's shores in 1947.  Imagine how India was exploited and squandered, according to the present estimate it is more than USD 45 Trillion, a whoopin sum.
