Delhi Gate in Delhi is one of the original entrances to the walled city of Shahjahanabad, built by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in the 17th century. It was part of the fortified walls surrounding Old Delhi, serving as a crucial gateway between the city and southern parts of India. Constructed using red sandstone, the gate features typical Mughal architectural elements, including intricate carvings, arched openings, and decorative battlements. The gate was strategically located on the road leading to the Mughal capital of Agra, making it an important transit point for trade and military movements.
